Vacancy for a Service Quality Specialist – Technical Service Advisor (Triage)

This is an excellent opportunity to remain closely involved in the technical side of the motor trade while developing a rewarding, customer-focused career – without the physical demands of a workshop environment.

As a Technical Service Advisor (Triage), you will be the first point of contact for customers raising concerns about their vehicles. You’ll combine your vehicle technician and mechanic knowledge with excellent customer service skills to triage vehicle issues, support diagnostic checks, and ensure a smooth repair process from start to finish.

Salary

  • Basic salary up to £40,000
  • + bonus potential £5,000
  • OTE up to £45,000

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays 8:30am-12:30pm

About the Role

You’ll be the vital link between our customers and the workshop. This is a key role focused on delivering a transparent, efficient, and high-quality repair journey while ensuring excellent customer satisfaction.

Combining strong technical and mechanical knowledge with outstanding customer service skills, you will identify, triage, and support the resolution of vehicle issues from initial concern through to successful repair.

This position is ideal for:

  • An experienced Vehicle Technician or Mechanic looking to step away from a workshop-based role into a customer-facing position, or
  • An individual transitioning from a management role who still wants to remain hands-on with technical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact between customers and the workshop
  • Diagnose and triage vehicle issues using your technical expertise
  • Clearly explain technical information to customers in a professional and reassuring manner
  • Support the workshop team to ensure timely and accurate repairs
  • Monitor repair progress to ensure quality, efficiency, and transparency
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in service quality and customer experience

What we’re looking for

  • Strong mechanical and technical background within the motor trade
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Mechanic, or similar role
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases while maintaining attention to detail
  • A proactive and solutions-focused mindset
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
