Panel Technician / Panel Beater

Steer Automotive Group – Fife

Are you an experienced Panel Technician or Panel Beater looking for your next opportunity?

At Steer Automotive Group, we’re looking for a skilled Panel Technician to join our established accident repair and bodyshop team in Fife.

You’ll be carrying out high-quality vehicle body repairs, working on a variety of vehicles and using modern repair methods and equipment to return vehicles to manufacturer standards.

What you’ll be doing

As a Panel Technician, you’ll be responsible for:

Repairing and replacing damaged vehicle body panels

Carrying out structural and chassis repairs in line with manufacturer repair methods

Using welding equipment, jigs, fixtures and specialist bodyshop equipment safely and effectively

Assessing damaged panels and determining the appropriate repair method

Dismantling and reassembling vehicles as required during the repair process

Ensuring all repairs are completed to a consistently high standard

Working closely with MET Technicians, Paint Technicians, VDAs and the wider bodyshop team

Identifying and communicating any additional damage or repair requirements

Keeping your tools, equipment and working area clean, organised and safe

Following manufacturer procedures, health and safety requirements and safe working practices

Keeping your technical knowledge up to date through ongoing training and development

What we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from experienced:

Panel Technicians | Panel Beaters | Vehicle Body Repair Technicians | Bodyshop Technicians

Ideally, you’ll have:

Previous experience carrying out vehicle panel and body repairs

Strong panel beating, panel replacement and repair skills

Experience working within an accident repair centre, bodyshop or automotive repair environment

Knowledge of modern vehicle repair methods and manufacturer standards

A strong eye for detail and commitment to quality

The ability to work effectively as part of a busy bodyshop team

Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent would be beneficial, although we’re also interested in hearing from experienced technicians with strong practical bodyshop experience.

You’ll be joining one of the UK’s growing automotive repair groups, with access to modern repair facilities, ongoing technical training and opportunities to develop your career within the wider Steer Automotive Group.
