Panel Technician / MET Technician – Bourne, Lincolnshire

Steer Automotive Group is recruiting an experienced Panel Technician / MET Technician to join our accident repair centre in Bourne, Lincolnshire.

If you’re currently working as a Panel Beater, MET Technician, MET Fitter, Bodyshop Technician, Vehicle Body Repair Technician or Accident Repair Technician, this could be a great opportunity to take the next step in your career.

Whether your experience is predominantly in panel beating and body repair, MET stripping and fitting, or a combination of both, we’d be interested in hearing from you.

You’ll be joining an experienced bodyshop team with access to modern repair equipment, industry-leading training and the support you need to produce high-quality repairs you can be proud of.

What You’ll Be Doing

Depending on your skills and experience, your role will include:

Carrying out high-quality panel repairs and replacing damaged body panels

Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim (MET) components

Repairing accident-damaged vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications

Completing structural repairs, chassis alignment and panel replacement

Welding and repairing vehicle panels using approved repair methods

Identifying additional repair requirements during strip and repair

Working efficiently while maintaining excellent standards of quality and workmanship

Ensuring repairs are completed safely and in accordance with approved repair methods and company procedures

Working closely with the wider bodyshop team to keep repairs progressing smoothly

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced technician with previous experience in an accident repair centre, bodyshop or similar vehicle repair environment.

Your experience may be as a:

Panel Technician / Panel Beater

MET Technician / MET Fitter

Bodyshop Technician

Vehicle Body Repair Technician

Accident Repair Technician

You’ll ideally have strong practical experience across panel repair, panel beating, MET stripping and fitting, welding, structural repairs or vehicle body repair, depending on your specialism.

You’ll also bring:

Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work

A good understanding of safe and approved vehicle repair methods

The ability to work efficiently within a busy bodyshop environment

A positive attitude and strong team-working skills

ATA or equivalent accreditation would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
