Maintenance Technician / Labourer – Grantham

Are you a practical, hands-on Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Operative or Labourer looking for a varied role where no two days are the same?

Steer Automotive Group is looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Technician / Labourer to support our sites across the region. Based from Grantham, you’ll travel between locations carrying out general maintenance, repairs and improvement works to help keep our sites safe, professional and running smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, labouring or building repairs who enjoys working independently and tackling a variety of practical tasks.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Regional Maintenance Technician / Labourer, you’ll provide hands-on maintenance support across a number of Steer Automotive Group locations.

Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out general maintenance and repair work across multiple sites

Completing basic plumbing, electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks

Responding to reactive maintenance issues and completing planned maintenance

Supporting general building and property repairs

Assisting with site improvements and refurbishment projects

Carrying out basic inspections and identifying maintenance issues

Reporting faults or repairs requiring specialist attention

Helping maintain clean, safe and organised working environments

Working closely with site teams to minimise disruption to day-to-day operations

Travelling between Steer locations to provide maintenance support where required

Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety requirements

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone practical, dependable and comfortable turning their hand to a variety of maintenance tasks.

Ideally, you’ll have:

Previous experience in maintenance, facilities, property maintenance, construction or general labouring

Good practical DIY and general repair skills

Experience with basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical or building maintenance

Confidence using hand and power tools

A proactive approach to identifying and resolving problems

Good organisation and time-management skills

The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

A strong understanding of workplace health and safety

Flexibility to travel regularly between sites

A full UK driving licence – essential

Experience in a Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Operative, Facilities Maintenance, Handyman, Caretaker, Property Maintenance or Multi-Skilled Maintenance role would be particularly relevant.
