This is a hands-on, field-based role delivering engaging face-to-face training across Sales and Aftersales.

Are you passionate about developing people and improving performance?

Pentagon Motor Group is looking for an experienced Sales & Aftersales Trainer to join our team and play a key role in developing the capability, confidence and performance of our people across the business.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands the motor industry, sales and customer experience and can turn knowledge into practical, engaging training that makes a genuine difference in our dealerships.

You will deliver face-to-face training across both Sales and Aftersales, working closely with our dealerships, managers and manufacturer partners to ensure our teams have the knowledge and skills they need to deliver an outstanding customer experience and achieve commercial results.

What you'll be doing

• Deliver engaging, practical face-to-face sales and aftersales training across Pentagon Motor Group.
• Develop and deliver training around the end-to-end sales process, from prospecting and customer engagement through to negotiation, finance and vehicle handover.
• Support teams to deliver an exceptional customer journey and customer experience.
• Deliver training on FCA/Financial Conduct Authority requirements, compliance and responsible selling.
• Develop knowledge and understanding of motor finance, F&I and regulatory requirements.
• Support Aftersales teams with training around customer service, retention, upselling and the aftersales customer journey.
• Work with managers to identify capability gaps and translate these into practical development plans.
• Work closely with manufacturer training teams and manufacturer programmes, ensuring Pentagon colleagues complete required training and maintain the appropriate standards.
• Monitor manufacturer training requirements, completion and compliance.
• Coach managers and individuals to embed learning back into the workplace.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training and use feedback and performance data to continually improve programmes.
• Work collaboratively with HR, Learning & Development, Operations and senior management to support wider business objectives.
• Keep up to date with changes across the motor industry, FCA regulation, manufacturer requirements, customer expectations and sales best practice.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who can combine motor trade experience with genuine training expertise.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong experience within the motor industry, preferably across Sales and/or Aftersales.
• Proven experience delivering face-to-face training in a dealership or automotive environment.
• A strong understanding of the automotive sales process and customer journey.
• Knowledge of FCA regulations, compliance and motor finance.
• Experience working with manufacturer training programmes and requirements.
• Excellent knowledge of customer service standards within the motor industry.
• The ability to engage people at all levels, from new starters through to experienced sales executives and managers.
• Strong presentation, communication and coaching skills.
• The ability to make training practical, relevant and engaging, rather than simply delivering information.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple training programmes and priorities.
• A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel across our dealership network.

You'll be someone who can walk into a dealership, build credibility quickly and get people engaged.

You won't be afraid to challenge poor practice, but you'll also know how to coach and support people to improve. You'll understand that great training isn't about PowerPoint slides — it's about changing behaviour, improving confidence and delivering measurable results.
