We are looking for a proactive and customer-focused Assistant Service Manager to support the day-to-day running of our busy Service department in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced service professional looking to take the next step in their automotive leadership career within a supportive and growing business.
As Assistant Service Manager, you will work closely with the Service Manager to lead the service team, ensure exceptional customer experiences, drive departmental performance, and maintain the highest standards of operational efficiency.
About the Role
You will play a key role in supporting the service operation by motivating colleagues, managing customer expectations, and helping to deliver department objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the Service Manager with the daily operation of the service department
Leading, coaching and developing Service Advisors and workshop support teams
Delivering an outstanding customer experience at every stage of the service journey
Monitoring service department performance and KPIs
Assisting with workload planning and workshop capacity management
Resolving customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently
Ensuring compliance with company policies, manufacturer standards, and health & safety requirements
Supporting departmental profitability through effective planning and customer retention initiatives
Building strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders
Requirements
Previous experience within an automotive service or aftersales environment
Experience supervising, coaching, or leading a team
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Commercial awareness and an understanding of performance targets
Confidence using dealer management systems and Microsoft Office applications
A positive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach
Full UK driving licence
An in-depth working knowledge of both RTC & Keyloop would is desirable but not necessary
