Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician

We’re looking for an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician to join our Bodyshop team at Volkswagen Sutton Coldfield .

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from experienced technicians while gaining hands on experience and working towards a Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician Apprenticeship .

You’ll learn how to restore vehicles following accidents and damage, developing the technical skills needed to achieve a high quality finish.

What will you be doing?

Working alongside our highly skilled Paint Technicians, you’ll learn how to:

• Remove relevant vehicle parts and prepare areas ready for repair.
• Mask vehicles to protect areas that shouldn’t be painted.
• Sand and prepare damaged and adjoining panels for painting and blending.
• Etch and prime surfaces to ensure the best possible finish.
• Learn how to select, match and mix paint colours using specialist paint systems.
• Develop professional spray-painting techniques to achieve a seamless finish.
• Work as part of a team to ensure vehicles are repaired to a high standard.
• Follow health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and organised working environment.

You’ll gradually build your knowledge and confidence, with plenty of support from experienced colleagues throughout your apprenticeship.

You’ll receive:

• On-the-job training within our Bodyshop, learning from experienced Paint Technicians.

• Block-release training at the state-of-the-art Inspiro Learning Centre in Doncaster.
