In this key role, you’ll ensure the accounting control processes are maintained with precision and that Marshall Accounting Policies are strictly followed. You will manage and maintain the Purchase ledgers at the highest level of performance, resolving aged AP balances and ensuring timely supplier payments. Additionally, you will lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve success in this critical area of our business.

We're looking for
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a dynamic team of Accounts Payable Clerks, providing guidance, support, and development to help them thrive.
- Payments Processing: Oversee timely and accurate processing of supplier payments, including daily TTs and employee expenses.
- Account Reconciliation: Manage aged creditor balances, resolve discrepancies, and carry out monthly supplier statement reconciliations.
- Improving Systems & Procedures: Develop and implement systems, processes, and policies to ensure smooth operations and adherence to company guidelines.
- Financial Reporting & Auditing: Assist in auditing tasks, provide regular reporting on accounts payable metrics, and contribute to financial report preparation.
- Vendor Relations: Partner with the retail businesses to address vendor issues and disputes professionally, minimizing operational and financial impacts.
- Compliance & Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and legal regulations.
About You
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role, with leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a focus on solutions

- Ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Exceptional team development and leadership skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly related to receivables and sales ledgers.
- Experience in managing and mentoring a team to meet objectives.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- A proactive approach to improving processes and reducing aged debt.
